Compañía Agrícola y Forestal El Álamo Ltda, supplies the forestry, agricultural and livestock industry, for which it develops, maintains and make use of its own plantations of poplar, eucalyptus and other native species. Furthermore CAF El Álamo produces and develops the wood from the Radiata pine and Eucalyptus Globulus, in combination with corn, blueberries and vines. All of the previously mentioned are grown within the borders of Chile, within the 3 232 hectares of land, currently owned and managed by CAF El Álamo.
On a national basis CAF El Álamo is the largest manufacturer of poplar Wood, aimed at the forestry industry.
The ownership of CAF El Álamo, including its plantations, is to 99,99 percent held by Compañía Chilena de Fósforos S.A. the remaining shares are held by Terciados y Elaboración de Maderas S.A (TEMSA), both CAF El Álamo and TEMSA are part of the Compañía Chilena de Fósforos S.A. Group.
El Álamo, a subsidiary of the Compañía Chilena de Fósforos S.A Group, is located in the seventh region of Chile, Maule, in the province of Linares, specifically the Retiro commune, within which it cultivates, manages and crops its plantations. The main area of production lies in the manufacturing of veneered sheets of wood to be used exclusively in the production processes of its associated companies Compañía Chilena de Fósforos S.A and Terciados y Elaboración de Madera S.A. The two companies mainly manufacture matches, paint paddles, Chopsticks and ice cream sticks. Within these production processes, the veneered wood from CAF El Álamo is essential.
