CAF El Álamo is a model of sustainable development; by making sure its production process actively improves the environment and seeing to that the harvest of its plantations is always carried out in a sustainable manner. Furthermore El Àlamo provides employment to the local workforce in an otherwise poorly developed rural area, at the same time creating value in an agriculturally low productive area.

We are conscious of the fact that our companies' future depends on the future of the nature that surrounds it. Due to this, we carefully make sure that every aspect of our production process is set up to ensure a sustainable environment.

CAF El Álamo is committed to Retiro, the community within which it has been permitted to develop and undertake so many activities over the past 70 years. Today El Álamo undertakes local projects to improve the environment, together with local schools the company and its neighbors strive to increase the quantity and density of local native forests - we also yearly celebrate the World Environment Day.

We are dedicated to always maintain our cooperation with local authorities, neighboring communities, universities, schools and non-profit organizations such as; supervisory boards, research institutions and several others. These contacts serve us in our ambition to exchange knowledge around the poplar species and our ambition to care for the environment. Every year we take in interns from local higher education; we extend education to all visiting universities and organizations, sharing our knowledge regarding the Poplar.
